World’s Largest Remington 1816 Shotgun Shell
The Challenge
Creating a monumental replica required more than scaling up a standard design. The structure had to:
- Maintain accurate proportions of the Remington 1816 shell
- Withstand long-term outdoor exposure
- Be structurally engineered for safe installation and permanent anchoring
- Be installed in an active retail environment without disruption
In addition to structural integrity, the visual finish had to meet brand standards for a highly recognizable product.
Our Solution
Precision Fabrication
The cylindrical shell body was custom-fabricated from rolled steel sections with reinforced internal framing for rigidity and stability.
All seams were welded and ground smooth to create a seamless exterior surface appropriate for high-gloss finishing.
Custom Finishing & Branding
The exterior was coated in Remington’s signature green and brass colorway. The large-scale “Remington” branding was carefully aligned and applied to preserve visual accuracy at monumental size.
The result delivers both brand impact and long-term durability.
Site Logistics & Crane Installation
Installation required careful planning and coordination. The oversized shell was delivered to the site and maneuvered into position using crane support.
The structure was lifted, rotated upright, and secured to a pre-constructed pedestal base engineered to support the display safely and permanently.
Safety perimeter controls were maintained throughout installation.
Results
The completed installation now stands as the world’s largest Remington 1816 shotgun shell — a landmark feature celebrating Green Top’s 75 years in business and its partnership with Vista Outdoor.
